I'm a girl, but I have alot of brothers...

They all swear by shaving. That is because leaving your hair alone will let is grow soft and fine at the ends, but if you shave it (not wax) it will cut the hair off at it's thickest point so when it starts to grow again (tomorrow) you will see the thickest part of the hair and it will be more noticeable.

Stay away from suplements, that is not very masculine and I dont think it would attract the girls to know that you cannot be a man on your own but you have to swallow a pill three times a day...
