I am a black female and I have facial hair on my upper lip and chin. I was always told if I shave it

i use a product called skin so soft facial hair removal cream its sold by Avon i have been using it for 2 years now and i love it . it never bleaches my skin ( i am Hispanic and have fairly dark skin) and never leaves red marks like waxing will it also leaves your skin smooth and is easy to remove . it only takes about 3 minutes and only costs a couple of dollars. also i have tried waxing it does hurt. i don't know there's something about having wax applied to my skin and then having all the hair ripped out at once that does not appeal to me. how about you? hope this helps.

You can get creams for it. Go to a sally hanson store....avon also has some facial hair lightening cream. You could also just get it waxed.

Sally Hansen makes a face hair remover. I use it and it leaves nice smooth skin behind. The hair never comes in darker or thicker and I only have to use it once every few months. No worries on the facial hair, lots of women have it!

I have noticed though, that the chemicals in th dipilitory cream (that's the actually name of it) does cause some lightening of the skin after use, but it goes away after a day, but that is what make-up is for....best of luck!

You can call around to local salons to find out how much it is to wax those areas. All together it might be around $15 or $20. At first you might have to go about every 3 weeks then after a while it should be less frequent. I get my eyebrows done, it doesn't hurt.

First off, that's only an urban legend - a myth - hair does not grow thicker, faster or longer, when shaved. If it did, I know alot of men who would be shaving their bald patches, rigorously! :)

There is a Nair product (and many similar ones, for sensitive skin, and quite a few specified for facial hair. Just be careful not to leave them on too long (read the label carefully) because you don't want to burn your upper lip.

Otherwise, waxing - while painful - lasts well and actually does thin out the regrowth, over time.

Never shave your facial hair or you'll regret it. You can either tweeze the facial hair, using a magnifying mirror, for better hair removal or get your upper lip/chin waxed at the hair salon. It'll grow back in slower when waxing.

the best way to put it is just trim how much you want off.

Shaving hair anywhere on your body does not make it grow back thicker or denser. I have tried waxing, Nair, creams, etc. you name it and all of those options are either painful or harmful to your skin. Many women are allergic to the hair removal creams and all of those burned my skin.

I use the Tinkle Eyebrow Razor which I buy from Queen's Beauty Supply(an African American shop) for 3 for $2. There is also another good face razor that flips out like a switchblade. The blades are designed for facial use and are very safe; you'll never cut your face. You can hold it at a 90娼?angle and just scrape it across your face. It is even safe to trim nose hair. Trust me, this is all I will ever use and you will not regret trying these if you can find them. I do not recommend using regular razors.

I would not recommend shaving off you facial hair since that will cause the hair to grow back coarser and thicker that it was before.

You can get creams for it. Creams like Nair will not effect the thickness of the hair. However a lot of people (including me) end up irritating their skin if they use depilatory creams. Also the creams only remove the hair that is above the skin, so the hair will grow back in three or four days.

You can also wax or pluck out your hair. This is a bit painful the first time you do, but since you remove the root of the hair, the results can last anywhere from two to six weeks. Also if done for a while the hair will eventually thin out.

Most home waxing kits cost less then ten dollars. My favorite is parissa strip-free Hot Wax which can be bought at Sephora or Ulta.

Also, I don't believe any of these methods will have any effect on your skin color ( except for the initial redness caused by waxing, plucking, or some creams, but this redness lasts only a couple of hours at the most).

That is so not true. It does not grow more hair. Hair grows out of a follicle, so unless you get more hair follicles(which is impossible) you won't get more hair. It also does not make the hair thicker. When the hair starts to grow back, it feels kinda prickly, which may give the sensation of 'thickness'. I recommend just shaving your hair; waxing hurts (like those Sally Hansen kits) depilatories (like nair) stink and might even irritate your skin.

laser is the best way to go--espceially for the face.
